Narrative
He’s smart
He’s cute. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. In season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas.
Dexter Morgan: I lived in the dark for a long time
His son, David Zayas Jr., plays the father in some scenes because they look remarkably similar. Dexter, who is seen throughout the first season, has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season two, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked.

Over the years, my eyes adjusted until the dark became my world and I could see. Main ThemeWritten by Rolfe KentPerformed by Rolfe Kent. Dexter, a forensic scientist by day, a serial killer with a vigilante streak by night.
Dexter creates a convincing and very detailed portrait of, let’s say, a troubled sociopath
One of the parts of the show that I like the most is the emotions that normal people display, thus forcing Dexter to imitate them. It’s a good laugh when Dexter’s fake emotions become real and he gets scared, as in his relationship with his "girlfriend" Rita, a mother of two and the victim of an abusive ex-boyfriend. I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Dexter’s sister Debra, she gives the series some nice colors without going into clichés.
