For someone who wasn’t really familiar with the story, the details of what happened really intrigued me
Narrative
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sportscaster crew is forced to cover the Israeli athlete hostage crisis. The acting is all believable, the comedy is in all the right places, and the pacing and length keep you from peeking out before the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not giving away any plot points
Some might find it tiresome not to change the setting, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was their world, and you felt that way on this eventful day.
Provocative without being preachy
They played up the political and emotional elements perfectly. The mix of footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, really adds to the experience.
While it’s not a film I’ll watch over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece that I’d recommend to friends who enjoy this type of film
Nice touch.
