Steve Martin actually plays a concerto in various scenes
Narrative
Three strangers who live in the same New York apartment building and share an obsession with true crime suddenly find themselves on a killing spree. He is actually a very brilliant and talented musician. In the first episode, the viewer learned that CHS lived above Oliver, who lived above Mabel, with this elevator scene. BUT the opener has CHS in an apartment on the 7th floor, Oliver on the 8th floor, Mabel on the 9th – in reverse order and way below CHS' the series has a suitable floor. Featured in AniMat Crazy Cartoon: The Rat of All My Dreams (2020). Season 1 (9/10) When this series came out, my girlfriend wasn’t very interested. I’m a huge fan of comedy mysteries and loved Steve Martin when I was younger, but her enthusiasm for each one is tempered.
The actors are great
But after five minutes, I had to stop and make her watch it because we’re New Yorkers and this series is appealing. New York in five minutes. The weird relationships with passers-by, the artistic types, the justified paranoia, it was all there and instantly hilarious. The series is about a trio of murder podcast fanatics who commit a real murder in their luxury apartment building. They will be investigating and broadcasting soon. But they also keep secrets from each other in a wonderful secret-within-a-mystery structure. Everyone has secrets, the series says, and digging deep is a fascinating exercise.
The show is amazing
Martin is wildly funny, Short, who I’m usually lukewarm to, is very funny as a flamboyant theater director, and Selena Gomez is more than a fun temporary tenant. This show has been a huge hit. as far as I know – certainly my friends (and other New Yorkers) love it – so I was shocked to see how many user reviews just hate the show or think it’s mediocre, to the point where they insist on paying for all the favorable reviews . . This answer is inexplicable to me. When a new episode was released, we immediately watched it. It’s so, so, so, so good.
Season 3 (6/10): What the Hell Happened?
Ignore the naysayers, this is a must watch.Other Seasons: Season 2 (8/10): A shade weaker than the first season, but still excellent. Season 3 had Steve Martin portraying his character as a complete idiot, and after 2 great seasons, Selena Gomez became weaker – darker and less witty. And when the mystery was solved, oh my god, they were the most ridiculous motives you could think of. Of course, there were still good moments, good guest stars, surprisingly pleasant songs. But OMG. Season 4 (9 stars) Much to my relief, Season 4 was a return to form – Martin was no longer an idiot and Gomez’s delightful snark was fully restored. There are some fun celebrity guest stars.
Probably the second best season after the first
Eva Longoria’s portrayal of herself as truly awful is especially funny. man – the mystery is compelling and thought-provoking, the plot twists are satisfying, and it’s all extremely funny.
