Narrative
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, is trying to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” This short film from IMDb tries to answer: Where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought tooth and nail to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but he failed. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars.
The Penguin is just awesome
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Appears in Graham Norton and guest stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). Wow.
I was wrong
Everyone knows what a great actor Colin Farrell is, but here he is unrecognizable as the Penguin. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was nominated for awards for his role in this film. The biggest surprise was Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone. I wasn’t sure when I heard she was nominated for this role, she’s a good actress, but I didn’t think this role was for her.

She’s as good in this as Farrell and makes you believe that Sofia Falcone is the real rival of the Penguin. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was nominated for awards for her role in this film either. This isn’t your typical DC or Marvel series, this is a full-fledged gangster series. This series is set in the underworld of a now partially destroyed Gotham City and is a great follow-up to Matt Reeves’ Batman.
